More about the Medical Student Outreach Program
What is a Perry Initiative Medical Student Outreach Program?
The Perry Initiative Medical Student Outreach Program is a hands-on introduction to the field of Orthopaedic Surgery for those in medical school (MD or DO). Women and all gender identities are welcome to apply. Participants in the Medical Student Outreach Program (MSOP) are connected with local mentors and like-minded peers while completing two Sawbones surgical simulations and participating in lively discussions. You can see photos from our most recent MSOPs on our Facebook page.
Where/when is the next Perry Initiative Medical Student Outreach Program?
We hold over 70 programs annually. You can check our upcoming program calendar, where you can filter by program type, location and date. We try to return to all locations annually, around the same time of year. We encourage medical students to attend any programs held in their regional area, but unfortunately, we are unable to provide support for travel or lodging.
How do I attend?
The first step is to find the next program date & location that works for you. You can find those on our upcoming program calendar. Then you'll fill out the MSOP registration form. Keep in mind that deadlines are typically around 30 days before the program date, and spots are first come, first serve.
