Dr. Dawn Elliott is a recent member of The Perry Initiative's Board of Directors. We are so proud that she was awarded the Robert M. Nerem Education and Mentorship Medal by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. We are even more proud that she chose to use her acceptance speech to discuss racial inequities in academia. This virtual plenary talk titled "Racial Injustice and White Privilege: What a (White) Person in the Academy Can Do" was recorded as part of the 2020 Summer Biomechanics, Bioengineering, and Biotransport Conference (SB3C).
