The Perry Initiative is pleased to announce that Dr. Laurie Meszaros-Dearolf has been appointed as the Executive Director for the organization. Dr. Dearolf joined The Perry Initiative in 2013, most recently serving as the Associate Director, and has been responsible for the tremendous growth in our nationwide programming efforts at the high school and medical school levels. She jointed the organization after receiving her PhD in Bioengineering from University of Pittsburgh and has been active in K12 education, bioengineering, and orthopaedic surgery disciplines. She will be taking over for Dr. Jenni Buckley, Co-Founder of The Perry Initiative, who has served as the part-time, volunteer Executive Director for the organization since its inception in 2009. Dr. Buckley will continue serve the organization as an officer on the Board of Directors as well as manage new curriculum development and program evaluation efforts. The appointment of a full-time, staff Executive Director represents a milestone for The Perry Initiative as an organization, and we are tremendously excited that Dr. Dearolf is assuming this role. Laurie’s dedication, talents, and energy have been a tremendous asset to The Perry Initiative for the past three years, and we look forward to further growth of the organization under her leadership.
