After a brief introduction to Orthopaedic Biomechanics by Dr. Buckley, BMIG students got to work with orthopaedic implants during this hour-long extracurricular introductory session. They installed fusion hardware in the lumbar spine to fix scoliosis (Module #4) and also assembled an external fixator to fix a femoral fracture (Module #8).
